Platform Guidelines

At Respects, we believe in honouring lives well lived, legacy, and the people who shaped us. This is a place for remembrance, reflection, and real human stories — not performance or provocation.

To protect the spirit of this space, we ask all users to follow these simple, clear principles:

What’s Welcome

  • Tributes and Stories
Posts that commemorate the life of someone who has died — whether they were a loved one, a public figure, a mentor, or a community hero.

  • Reflections and Gratitude
Thoughts and feelings about loss, legacy, learning, and what people have left behind.

  • Shared Values
Insights, memories, or causes that honour someone’s spirit or stand for something they believed in.

  • Supportive Engagement
Thoughtful comments, kind words, and respectful conversations that uplift and connect.

What’s Not Allowed

To keep Respects safe and sacred, we do not allow:

  • Trolling or Disrespect
Insults, mockery, inflammatory comments, or any form of cruelty — whether aimed at individuals, groups, or the deceased.

  • Inappropriate or Graphic Content
No images or descriptions that are violent, sexual, explicit, or disturbing in nature.

  • Hate Speech or Discrimination
Absolutely no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, or any kind of targeted harassment.

  • Political or Agenda-Driven Debate
While we honour those who stood for something, this is not a platform for arguments, campaigning, or polarising rhetoric.

  • Advertising or Self-Promotion
This is a non-commercial space. Posts promoting products, services, or personal brands will be removed.

Guiding Principles

  1. Respect the memory of others.
Everyone deserves dignity — especially in death.

  2. Think before you post.
Ask: Is this kind? Is it true? Is it necessary?

  3. It’s not about likes or followers.
This is about connection, not competition.

  4. You’re not alone here.
If you’re grieving, processing, or reflecting — there’s space for you here.

Moderation

We moderate Respects actively to protect the community. Content or accounts that violate these guidelines may be edited, hidden, or removed without notice.

Serious or repeated violations may result in suspension or permanent bans.
